It is official: I am becoming a stay at home mom after this semester teaching. I am looking forward to focusing on my family and self-care.
Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world. -Lucille Ball
Of course, self-care includes sewing when possible!
Sewing hasn’t happened much this school year. To keep my sanity and creative joy going, I joined Seamwork’s Collection Planning Course which was online and free for subscribers. I’ve been playing and learning in snippets over the past few months.
I found this planner a soothing and creative exercise. It also revealed some personal trends and helped me rethink my sewing methodology.
I’ve really moved away from black clothing lately. Instead, I’m drawn to neutrals like cream, beige, brown, mustard, olive and navy and bold colors like crimson, coral, blush and turquoise. There is a nod to the natural world and artistic transformations of nature throughout.
I am very excited to add a countdown on my blog as I’ve been updating and modifying my blog to reflect my new methodology and life changes. I’m also developing ideas for my side project as a sewing instructor locally.
